Abigale Le Miller bio

Abigale Lee Mills (born September 21, 1965) was a American dance instructor, choreographer, and reality television host. She is the founder of the Abby Lee Dance Company, which was featured on the reality series Dance Moms for eight seasons. Miller admitted guilt on June 27th, 2016 to the charge of felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced on the 27th of June, 2016 to one year and one day in federal prison. She was released in March 27th 28th, 2018. In April 2018, she was diagnosed with lymphoma that is a type of cancer that makes it impossible to walk. She is now using a wheelchair to get around. Miller grew up around dance in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, an Pittsburgh suburb. She attended classes under the tutelage of her mother at the Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller was just 14 years old when she was given choreography and the role of coach on one of her mother's dancing teams in competition. Miller eventually took over the dance studio and renamed it Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance Masters of America, and was a part of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 (February 1986). However, DMA terminated her membership in February 2012 due to the fact that Miller's reality television show Dance Moms was a "complete misrepresentation of the teachers we have and students" and was damaging to the profession.
